The 19th Macau Food Festival will be held at the West Bay Plaza in Macau from November 8th to 24th. To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the return of Macao, this year’s special “Macau 2019 World Cantonese Cuisine Chefs” was added.
This year’s Food Festival is the theme of “Celebrating the Return of 20 Years. The World Food is at the Eyes”. It is hosted by the Macao Catering Industry Association, the Macao Catering Industry Union, the Macao Journalists Association, the Macao Culinary Association and the Macao Western Vegetable Bread Union.
Chen Zewu, president of the Macau Catering Industry Association, said that more than 100 local specialty catering companies will be invited this year to showcase Macau’s unique multi-food culture, discover more catering ideas and bring a fresher culinary experience to the citizens and visitors.
At the same time, the organizers will also create a unique “Hokkaido Village”, and invite the famous food and beverage outlets in Hokkaido, Japan to participate in this food festival event, so that the citizens and tourists can experience the exotic flavors while enjoying the unique flavors of Macau. The organizers hope to build the food festival into an international marketing platform for local catering companies and show local catering features to travelers and catering industry colleagues around the world to promote the construction of the Macau World Tourism and Leisure Center and promote the moderate and diversified development of the Macao economy.
Chen Zewu said that in order to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the return of Macao, this year’s conference specially added the “Macau 2019 World Cantonese Cuisine Kitchen Emperor Competition” and invited 150 teams from more than 40 countries and regions to participate in the competition.
