The new data channel will cover Hengqin New Area, the bonded area, Hongwan Area, Shizimen North Area and Zhuhai-Macau Cross-border Industrial Zone.
Hengqin made a breakthrough recently with the construction of the country’s first dedicated Internet data channel that runs outside of the national network. This greatly improves access speeds for Internet users based in Hengqin seeking to retrieve information from sources outside of China. Buffering is reduced from the traditional 70ms to 14ms, representing an 80% increase in efficiency, and contributing to the high-quality development of information infrastructure in Hengqin.
Developed by China Mobile’s Zhuhai branch, in partnership with Zhuhai Dahengqin Technology Development Co., Ltd., the dedicated channel also helps reduce the packet loss rate of Internet access by more than 50%. This will greatly enhance the information processing efficiency of Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan enterprises and foreign enterprises in Hengqin, thereby improving the cross-border business environment in Hengqin.
Not only will the new channel meet the requirements of international financial services, cross-border e-commerce and other industries for real-time information processing, but the network has improved security, too. Data traffic in the dedicated channel is effectively isolated from other business traffic, so that when some nodes on the public network (inside the mainland) are attacked illegally or a network virus breaks out, the dedicated channel will remain unaffected.
The dedicated channel will cover Hengqin New Area, the bonded area, Hongwan Area, Shizimen North Area and Zhuhai-Macau Cross-border Industrial Zone. Overall, the new channel is expected to help Hengqin New Area improve its ability to attract investments globally.
