  1. Macau has confirmed three new imported Covid-19 cases who flew into Hong Kong and came back to Macau across the HZMB. The 13th  is a 20-year-old female Macau resident studying in the UK. The 14th is a 42-year-old woman who had been accompanying a family member of an Indonesian expatriate returning from Jakarta. The 15th is a 31-year-old Filipino who returned from Manila. They are all under quarantine, receiving medical treatment. GOV
  2. Many of the city’s small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) have no plans to apply for the government’s interest-free loans designed to shore up their business. Despite over 90% of respondents to a survey reporting business losses during the epidemic period, with half of these claiming to have seen their business diminish by 50% or more, 40% said they have sufficient cash flow to support them in not applying for the scheme. MDT
  3. Pousada Marina Infante Hotel is about to reach full occupancy with quarantined patients being processed by Macau’s border controls with the mainland. And so from tonight, the Golden Crown China Hotel in Taipa becomes the second hotel designated as a venue of medical observation. It has 300 rooms and will charge non-resident workers and non-Macao residents 5600 patacas for their 14-day stay. GOV
  4. Zhuhai’s Haiquan Bay Resort has become the first tourism venue to reopen in the city since the coronavirus outbreak began. Its Ocean Hot Springs resort and Mystic Island Theme Park opened their doors again on Monday this week. SCN
  5. Phase 3 of the main project expansion of Taipa Ferry Terminal has been completed. It includes a number of additions, such as a fireboat station, a fuel terminal, fuel storage equipment and refueling systems, VIP passages, and an air-sea transport corridor that will allow travelers to walk directly to Macau International Airport without entering Macau. TDM
  6. Macau casino gross gaming revenue (GGR) is expected to fall by 70%-80% YoY in March, suggest a number of brokerages. That comes after February recorded the lowest monthly level of GGR since 2004, according to official data. GGRA
  7. Management at gaming operator SJM Holdings seems to have less confidence than previously – “understandably so” – that it can open its new Grand Lisboa Palace casino resort (pictured) on Cotai by the end of this year, said brokerage JP Morgan Securities (Asia Pacific) Ltd. GGRA
  8. The Macau leg of the Fédération Internationale de Volleyball (FIVB) will be postponed until the Olympic Games in Tokyo this year, the Sports Bureau said. It was scheduled to be held from June 2 to 4 at the Macao Forum. MDT

  10. A research team led by Zhang Kang, a professor at the Macau University of Science and Technology (MUST), has developed a smart system for faster diagnosis of the novel coronavirus. It is an artificial intelligence-assisted diagnostic system working through a chest CT and X-Ray. MDT
