  1. Hengqin is to be the site of a new Macau International Research Institute. Covering a land parcel of 31 hectares (310,000 sqm), the project will apparently serve as a “test bed” for cross-border cooperation in science and technology research. MDN
  2. Starting today, individuals who have travelled to Norway within the past 14 days prior to their entry into Macao must submit to medical examination. GOV
  3. A research team led by Chuxia Deng, dean of the University of Macau (UM) Faculty of Health Sciences (FHS), recently found a new way to prevent the recurrence and metastasis of breast cancer. GOV  
  4. The government has decided that a minimum wage law currently under discussion will not cover handicapped workers. Once the law takes effect, the minimum wage will be increased to MOP32 per hour, MOP256 per day, MOP1,536 per week, or MOP6,656 per month. It will be reviewed every two years, though there is no minimum interval date set for updating the amounts. It should be passed within this month. MDT
