Guangdong has seen another day with no new COVID-19 infections and 12 recoveries, leaving only 63 under treatment as of Tuesday, according to the Guangdong Health Commission.
Hong Kong, however, appears to be struggling with imported cases – and they are not from the mainland. Five reported yesterday were all imported or close contacts of imported cases, taking the city’s total of confirmed cases to 120. Five patients were released from hospital, bring the total discharges to 65, while 133 remain under observation, according to the Centre for Health Protection.
The death toll in the GBA remained just 11.
The country reported only 24 new cases on Tuesday, of which 10 were imported. Hubei recorded just 13 new cases, down from 17 the previous day, with 22 new deaths bringing the province’s total to 3,046, according to the Hubei Health Commission.
Of China’s total 80,778 confirmed cases, around 76% have left hospital, with 1,578 discharged on Tuesday alone, according to the National Health Commission.
