COVID-19 recoveries are rapidly climbing in Guangdong, while the province finally saw zero new infection for the first time since it started reporting the numbers, keeping the total at 1,347 on Tuesday, according to the Guangdong Health Commission. So far, 841 patients have left hospital, with 36 discharged on Tuesday alone.
In Hong Kong, four new cases were confirmed yesterday, with six more test positive today, potentially taking the city’s total to 91. Among the confirmed total of 85, 18 patients have been discharged, according to the city’s Centre for Health Protection. The death toll in the GBA remained at nine.
The nationwide number of new infections outside Hubei (which reported 401 yesterday), remained at single digits, at five, down four from the previous day’s nine. The death toll rose to 2,715, with 52 new deaths reported, all in Hubei. Of the total 78,064 infections, around one-third have been discharged.
