The leaders of China and the US were supposed to sign a new agreement next month to avoid an escalation in their trade dispute. They were supposed to sign it on the sidelines of the APEC meeting in Chile. That is off now, as Chile canceled the event, which was scheduled for November 16-17 in Santiago.
Could it be happening in Macau? China has proposed the SAR as an alternative venue. No comment from the White House is yet forthcoming. Stay tuned for further details.
